Thomas
Thomas is a recent graduate from the Bachelor of Architecture program at Iowa State University. Originally from Southeast Nebraska, he is fascinated by the unfamiliar nuances and quirks of Pittsburgh’s urban condition. He often takes long walks to explore and experience the nooks and crannies of as many of the city’s neighborhoods as possible. Thomas designs with a strong emphasis on urbanism, contextual sensitivity, and the public realm.
Outside of architecture, Thomas is a big college football and basketball fan and cheers on his Cyclones on game days. He also loves travelling both near and far. By far his most impactful journey was his study abroad experience in Rome during his time at Iowa State.
Thomas is interning through Carnegie Mellon University’s UDream Program. He is excited about the opportunities the program has opened for him, including bringing him to Pittsburgh and working with the team at PWWG!

My architectural philosophy
Strong communities rely on a strong public realm and distinct sense of place, they are grounded in their contexts by their unique responses to its challenges. It is the responsibility of designers to tap into a community's sense of place and context to identify the assets that exemplify it.
